1. Material Description

NF Marine Elastomer is a high-performance NewsFender® elastomer engineered for marine fender applications requiring resistance to oils, fuels, saltwater exposure, and industrial harbor environments.

The material provides structural durability under demanding operational conditions including:

  • Continuous marine exposure

  • Hydrocarbon contact

  • Splash-zone oil contamination

  • Mechanical compression stress

Designed specifically for NewsFender® structural marine fender systems.


2. Chemical Resistance Performance

Performance values represent normalized resistance ratings derived from controlled chemical testing under specified laboratory conditions.

These values indicate relative material stability — they do not represent absolute degradation percentages.

4. Marine Application Relevance

NF Marine Elastomer demonstrates:

  • Excellent long-term saltwater stability

  • Excellent resistance to mineral oils and fuels

  • Strong hydrocarbon resistance profile

  • Reliable mechanical behavior under marine compression loads

  • Moderate resistance to selected industrial solvents

  • Limited compatibility with aggressive solvent systems

Suitable for:

  • Harbor fender systems

  • Marina installations

  • Fuel-exposed dock applications

  • Industrial marine infrastructure

Not recommended for prolonged exposure to highly aggressive solvents without validation.

5. Storage & Handling Guidance (Summary)

  • Store at 15–25°C

  • Relative humidity below 50%

  • Protect from UV exposure

  • Apply FIFO inventory system

  • Shelf life: Up to 2 years under proper storage

  • Drying specification (if moisture contamination occurs):

    12 hours at 60°C
